Carpet Steam Cleaner
52Since the 1920s, steam cleaners have been used in Europe. Many European households have enjoyed using a carpet steam cleaner for decades. Only more recently has their use become more popular in the U.S.
Steam cleaners have many practical uses that are both in your home and in places of business. If you are interested in having a sanitary and clean area, whether you are a janitor, plant supervisor, restaurant owner, or home owner, you can benefit from learning about carpet steam cleaners. There is no doubt that steam cleaning makes your home a lot cleaner than other cleaning methods, such as vacuuming for example.
There
are many things that are hard on your carpets including pets and kids. Even though
you can rent a carpet cleaner, it is often times more economical and also convenient
to purchase your own for those unexpected spills and stains. What would you do if you were getting ready for a party and your child spills his/her juice on the white carpet? You would not have time to run to the store to get a cleaner.
Steam cleaners
come in a variety of sizes and have varying feature sets. We will look at some
of these features below to help with your purchase decision. After reviewing all of this information you should have a much better idea about what the best carpet steam cleaner is for your specific needs.
Rotating Brushes
A rotating brush helps to lift dirt from the carpet which is essential when using a steam cleaner. Generally the higher the brush count, usually between 4 to 6, will affect the price of the machine
Upright or Canister
For cleaning large areas, it is usually better to get an upright even though they tend to be hard to push around since they are heavy. Canisters are better for small areas like the inside of your car or your furniture.
Size of the Tank & Design
Most upright carpet cleaners can hold one gallon of a hot water a cleaning solution mixture. Canisters can hold more water, but the water becomes colder faster. Most people prefer to have a separate container for the cleaning solution and the water so that the dirty water does not contaminate the cleaning solution.
Tools & Attachments
Depending on your specific needs and price range you may want to consider looking at a model with automatic cleaning tools, stair attachments, upholstery attachments, and maybe even a bare floor attachment.
Water Heater
While traditional carpet steam cleaners work by using the hot water that you add to the unit, some newer models actually have a water heater that is built in. This will keep the water piping hot and also increase cleaning efficiency.
I hope you have learned some things that other carpet steam cleaner reviews have omitted. Although we went over most of the basics you may also want to look into a portable carpet steam cleaner as well. Good luck finding the steam cleaner that is right for you!
